Who are the Johannesburg Cochlear Implant Centre (JCIC)
The JCIC is an NPC who aim to assist those with severe to profound hearing loss, when hearing aids no longer give them access to speech sounds. We are a passionate, energetic group of audiolgoists who work in Parktown at the WITS Donald Gordon Hospital. The aim of the NPC is to provide audiological assessment, management, support and follow up of those individuals who meet the criteria for a cochlear implant. We also aim to assist those who are unable to fund an implant on their own through our charity arm. The charity also assists those who are unable to afford repairs, parts and batteries.
